About Rubymink

Voyager, is Rubymink’s primarily instrumental third album with brooding electronic soundscapes, downtempo, psychedelia and trip hop. Distinguished by its expansive sound, the bass-laden beats, heavy synths and driving guitars evoke ominous cinematic expanses inspired by dystopian themes and space travel. Two of the nine tracks, “If You Want It” and “Voyager” which is an homage to the spacecraft, feature vocals by Stevyn Llewellyn and Cati James.

Sea to Sky, Rubymink’s second album features  instrumentation and
vocals by Stevyn Llewellyn, along with the incredible vocal talents of Cati James.

Contributors to the debut album include instrumentation and
vocals by Stevyn Llewellyn, along with the incredible vocal talents of Maggie Gibson, Mari Takagi, and Cati James, Bass on “It’s True”
by Justin Calhoun, and Drums on “It’s True”  by Billy Armijo of the Bedsit Infamy.

All albums mixed and mastered by Ryan Conner of Mindcyclestudios.

Rubymink features artists from  Portland, Oregon, New York, New York, Tokyo, Japan, and Denver, Colorado.

Notes on Voyager:

Rubymink’s third album ‘Voyager’ is a vast, electronic journey that evokes ominous cinematic expanses inspired by dystopian themes and space travel.
The album is brooding electronic soundscapes, downtempo, psychedelia and trip hop. Distinguished by its expansive sound, the bass-laden beats, heavy synths and driving guitars evoke ominous cinematic expanses inspired by dystopian themes and space travel. Two of the nine tracks, the sensual and ponderous “If You Want It” and “Voyager” which is an homage to the spacecraft, feature vocals by Stevyn Llewellyn and Cati James.

Rubymink’s second release, ‘Sea to Sky’ is a sonic and psychedelic rock experience with thunderous highs and melodic lows featuring Stevyn Llewellyn and Cati James.

Released August 5th, 2016

Rubymink’s second release was recorded in Portland, Oregon and New York, New York from 2015-2016. ‘Sea to Sky’ delves into sonic landscapes and electronic forays into psychedelic rock, inspired by nature, life experience and space. The album was written and arranged by Stevyn Llewellyn, and features the vocal contributions of Cati James. The album was mixed and mastered by Ryan Connor of Mindcycle studios in 2016.

Notes on the Self titled debut album:

Rubymink is a magic carpet ride into a dreamy world of flower-filled mountain valleys, starlit skies, crashing metal storms, and great unknowns.
